The Ultimate Hotels Guide For
Transportation
General

The city of Salzburg is a preferable destination for it has to offer much to its visitors and is easy to reach. Located approximately 200 kilometers from Munich, which is about 2 hours by train, and 300 kilometers from Vienna, Salzburg is on the border between Austria and Germany. If you come by car, you will arrive on the Autobahn A8 from Germany. The Autobahn is usually blocked by traffic jams on holidays and summer weekends, or during ski season. From the Autobahn you can easily reach the Neutrostasse, which leads to the underground garages- an ideal place to park your car if you are staying in the Old Town. From Vienna take Autobahn A1 and from Italy A10. The city itself is not favourable for cars- the Old Town is a pedestrian zone, while the other part of the city has narrow, one-way streets that are a real nightmare for the driver.
